Natural Moisturizing Body Body Butter

INGREDIENTS:

• 240ml (8 FL OZ) of olive oil, coconut oil or almond oil 

• 30-60g (1-2 OZ) Bees Wax 

• 10 ml (0.3 FL OZ) Vitamin E oil (optional)

• 20-50 drops of essential oil 

EQUIPMENT:

• Sauce pan

• Cheese Grater (if your bees wax isn't in pellets or ground)

• Sterilized Metal Spoon.

• Sterilized Glass Jars or Metal Tins. 

• Marker and labels 

INSTRUCTIONS: 

1. Measure  240 ml (8 FL OZ) of olive, coconut or almond oil and place in a sauce pan. Turn the stove on simmer. 

2. Grate 30-60 g (1-2 OZ) of bees wax (depending on how thick you want the balm) and add to the simmering oil. Nota: 60 g of solid bees wax is approximately 1/4 cup of melted bees wax.  Continue to simmer the mix, stirring with the sterilized spoon until the bees wax has completely melted. 

3. Leave the sterilized spoon in the mixture and place the mixture in the refrigerator so that the mixture cools quickly until you have the perfect consistency for a hand or body balm. If the mixture is to liquid, warm again on the stove and a little more bees wax.  You can also make the consistency more liquid by adding more oil.   

4. As desired, add the vitamin E oil and Essential oil of you choice to the mixture.   If you are adding essential oils wait until the mixture is cooler but still not completely solid. 

5. While the mixture is still warm, pore into jars or tins and let them cool at room temperature. 

6. Once cooled put on the tops and label. 

NOTE: 

To clean your equipment boil water in a large pan and turn off the stove.  Carefully submerge the sauce pan and utensils in the hot water and let soak for several minutes.  Remove the bees wax that floats to the surface and discard. DO NOT flush down the drain!  Remove the utensils and sauce pan with tongs.  Use dish rags or paper towels to remove any remaining bees wax residue.  Remove any remaining wax from the large pot before poring the remaining water down the drain then clean the large pot to remove any remaining wax. Wash all utensils, pots, pans etc. with soap and water.
